"The room had horrid smell had to get can air freshner. Would sudgest a deep clean of carpet.breakfast was adequate . Noise banging about from guests coming in late at midnight.shouldnt let dogs in breakfast room."

"Superb hotel full of character. Our room was beautifully appointed and very comfortable. We dined in the restaurant and were very impressed with the choice offered particularly for my husband who is coeliac and has to have gluten free. Every member of staff we engaged with were so polite and friendly. Our stay was an absolute delight."

"I liked our room it was large had every facility you could need available in it, the bathroom had a bath and shower and was so clean it glistned as was the main room. The meal at our function was beautifully presented and tasted amazing, the staff were all so friendly and helpful. The pub attacked next to the hotel was lovely We sat. "It was an old characterful building with many original features. It was evident from the certificates and photos around the place that it had been a hotel & restaurant of note with award winning credentials. It isn’t a shiny glitzy hotel but equally the decor was quite tired and patched up in places. "Rooms were clean and fresh and breakfast was very good. What wasn’t so good was that bath towel was damp, either from not being changed or not dried thoroughly. We found the mattress quite hard and sleeping was not helped by the people above us running round at 12:30 pm- assume it was children,"

"Very comfortable bed, clean room We stayed for 2 nights. At check-in, we did not notice the sign in reception that you need to ask for a room refresh (before noon) We needed clean cups, glasses, tbags, but we asked in the pub on the second day and all were provided. The only downside is there isn’t really anywhere in the bathroom to dry towel on a two night stay, so maybe best to ask for refresh Excellent value for money"

"Enjoyed our stay in a garden room. Although the gardens aren’t totally finished it’s nice to see the progress being made and on a sunny day it’s nice to have direct access. Fantastic meal in the kitchen restaurant. We had dined in prevost on previous occasions but the standard of dishes in the other restaurant was great. Friendly reception when we arrived. Breakfast is fantastic. If you are looking for a night or two to relax in a pretty and period setting then this hotel is recommended."

"The staff were very helpful. The hotel is very tired and needs some changing and upgrades and the bathroom was not clean with ingrained grubbiness. At breakfast, there was a coffee machine with no facilities for decaffeinated coffee. Just sachets of decaffeinated. Otherwise breakfast was good."
