"The Old Deanery is brilliant if you appreciate a sense of the historic! The rooms are full of charm and character and the staff were excellent. The 'Tasting menu' is a delight on the taste buds and well worth every penny! As is the breakfast which is a wonderful way to start the day. It is situated over the road from the beautiful Cathedral in the heart of the ancient city of Ripon and well worth the opportunity to forget about the car and explore the city on foot. Well worth the money."

"Friendly welcome from Kate, very nice room with very large bed. We had our evening meal there, both very tasty. Good night's sleep, it was lovely and quiet, comfy bed. Great shower the next morning. Breakfast was pre-booked the night before, my husband had the eggs royale with smoked salmon and l had a sausage sandwich. The price included a cup of very good coffee each. Had a good chat to the housekeeper Kath. Pity they are moving on, but we might visit them when they move to Thirsk."

"A birthday treat for my girlfriend, it was the perfect setting for a cosy weekend away immaculately clean and well presented with everything we needed, really enjoyed out stay and will definitely staying again in the future "

"The main issue was the very strong dog smell in our room. Our stay was during snowy weather, and the room was extremely cold until the portable electric heater had warmed the room up - this took about 5 hours, so I'm glad we didn't check in close to bed time. The shower was an unpredictable dribble that leaked onto the bathroom floor. The kettle was broken so was continuously boiling and the handle was extremely hot, this is of course a safety concern if we had have left it unattended. I was expecting a slightly rough and ready stay due to the bargain price, but I couldn't overlook or resolve the terrible smell. The hole in the blind was a bit unsettling. On a positive note, the bedding and towels were clean and the parking was convenient. The landlady did try to find another heater for us, which we appreciated, however the heater was broken. "

"We went to the ripon races and this was an excellent base to go from . The cottage was gorgeous and the host gail was amazing very helpful and guided us on taxis . The nicest part was the extra touches gail put in the cottage for us prosecco biscuits all little extra things you might forget like toothbrushes very thoughtful of her .
