"Amazing stay as always with Marriot!"

"I was travelling solo around Japan and on quite a tight budget so this was one of my pricier stays ... it was well worth it though! Lovely to have the Japanese style room for the experience - and the onsen was perfect having inside and outside options. The location was perfect - immediately adjacent to the key attractions of the area ... the only slight issue was lugging my bags up the hill as I missed the shuttle bus and made my own way there. The staff were very responsive thought coming out to help when they were aware - also with umbrella when raining. Food was an amazing experience - being of somewhat unadventurous vegetarian, I opted for the western breakfast which was lovely. However looking at the tables laid out for those who had a more traditional breakfast I can see that it was first class! I fully recommend this property for those visiting Nikko and all its historic sites - you won't be disappointed! "

"Very friendly staff. Clean and large room. Fantastic view of the lake from rooms. Very comfortable stay. Tobu bus stop 28 is right out front of the hotel so super easy to get to/from Nikko train stations with luggage; and to many nature sites and hiking trails."

"Amazing experience! Onsen, rooms and allover environment was superb. The meals served were carefully prepared with an exquisite presentation. Staff is very kind and helpful. They’ll shuttle you to and from Nikko station to the Ryokan as well as guide you to the bus that takes you to Keyon. falls. In addition, the Ryokan plays calming music in the hallways and reception area. Gift shop is adorable and they add a special touch to putting your name on a plaque visible at the entry way into the Ryokan. We will miss this facility and hope to return again. "

"This was my 3rd time staying here, great location a few min walk from the train and bus terminal, warm comfortable rooms, friendly helpful staff, it's a shame they changed the breakfast service, the curry and rice were excellent before... I'd definitely recommend eating at yuba komachi while in Nikko, delicious chicken cutlet curry, very good price and lovely staff, 2 min walk from the hotel "

"Room was great. Clean, full of quality amenities, comfortable bed, cool tech. Nice bath, free drinks in fridge, and tooth brushes, bathroom kits available in bathroom. Not the greatest location — but of a walk to town. Went in off-season (December) and it was hard to find food. The check-in process was confusing and a little annoying. You have to check in via a tablet in the room by filling out some fields, taking a photo, then verify your face on live video through a call centre. "
