"Booked a double-double room for a university visit. Hotel location is excellent and the room was clean and relatively well equipped, if a little dated.
Beds were comfortable and there were the usual facilities in there too (fan, iron and boars, safe etc..)
The only negative point is that there is no air conditioning, which - given that we managed to arrive on a day that was 27c - was a problem. The fans helped but it was still a clammy and uncomfortable night. Even budget hotels these days have AC so if you're staying in York during the warmer months it's worth bearing this in mind - especially when we paid almost £300/night."
