"Would easily recommend staying here as the staff were very helpful and the location was perfect. Note there is no car park at the property but you can park at the top of the hill close by for free public parking so you need to be fit enough to take your luggage up stairs at the hotel and down a steep road for about 50m to get to the hotel from the carpark. Very busy on weekends with local tourists so during week probably best. Room was a little worn but very clean and unique, great views and nice tea service provided. Breakfast is a voucher for 7/11 next door but thats better than it sounds as there is plenty of choice. The bento box was excellent value and lots of really interesting shops around."

"Hotel was very good especially when driving out of town to Alishan. The area has limited stores and restaurants in the area except a 7-11 and a gas station. Room was excellent and the fitness room was useful, however, mats and a cable machine would have made it better."

"The location of this hotel is just amazing. You really are nestled right in the midst of tea plantations. The views are spectacular and the tea trails are worth exploring. Honestly, I loved it even more than the time I spent on Alishan National Park. But these views come with a price if you don’t have your own mode of transportation, like your own car. We arrived to the area (Shizhao) by bus, but to get to the hotel, you have to prearrange a pickup with a driver recommended by the hotel (there’s no Uber). So it is a must to be in communication with the hotel before getting there. Just the one way drive alone was 300NT which was more than the price of the bus ticket to get from Chiayi to Shizhao. This same process is repeated getting from the hotel to the Shizhao bus stop. I highly recommend getting the dinner at the hotel. It was so much food that I couldn’t finish everything."

"Our room is on the second floor of an impressive house of the village head. It has 4 queen-sized beds and is very spacious. We enjoyed our stay there."

"The hotel was spotlessly, clean, the pool and hot tub on the rooftop were wonderful, particularly when you watch the sunrise. The rooftop bartender was engaging and entertaining, very fun. The staff at check-in and check out efficient, kind, and delightful."
Shianghu Boutique Hotel

"The hotel was dated and a bit far from walking to the Chiayi Station. There was a large stain on the cushioned headboard and did not look good at all. The shower was located at a corner of the bathroom without enclosure or shower curtain, whenever we took shower, the entire bathroom including the cabinets, vanity top, toilet, etc was wet. Really strange design! Breakfast was good with many items. Staffs were friendly."
