"A good no nonsense place to stay. It has all the necessities you need and a huge amount of choice for breakfast. The gardens around the property are nice and the pool would be a real bonus in the summer. The staff are friendly and the propietor spoke excellent English and was a really helpfull nice chap. I was very glad I found this and would stay again if in the area. I didnt know how to rate the Eco freindlyness as i dont know that, so a mid 3stars. "

"This is an excellent choice for seeing Saumur. It is in an old building with a lot of character. My room was large, with wooden beamed ceiling, tall windows that opened, and a limestone fireplace I wish I had in my home. Ensuite had shower and had plenty of space. Bed was comfortable. Staff was friendly and quite helpful. The hotel is part of a very large restaurant with good food and good service. "It was bearable, but more roach motel than hotel. Dark and dingy room at the back overlooking a swamp-like swimming pool and AC units. Bed reasonably comfortable, pillows (or rather pillow) dreadful. Inconveniently separate toilet and bathroom. Breakfast not worth the money really, but the coffee was nice. Host was agreeable and friendly. Sadly this was the only place we could find as most were fully booked. Next time, I’ll look more in advance and get something better. "
