"This place is BRAND NEW! GREAT way to spend a night. It's like the world's best modular container home. We arrived late (10pm) and were able to get into our "home" using the code on the door. Very straight forward. What I did not appreciate was the laundry list of what we had to do: make our own bed at 10 pm, next day put away the bed (it's a couch) and take trash out, start dishwasher, etc etc etc. I am on vacation, I can do chores back home. So when this review asks if the staff was helpful, I...

"This was a great stay! The cabins seemed brand new. Everything was spotless and very comfortable. The cabins are located right off the main road near a small grocery store and other restaurants which was convenient. It is perfectly situated if you are planning to see Golden Circle sites. We really enjoyed our stay here!"

"Overall the room was good and fine. However, amenities greatly lacked. For a family of four, two nights, there was one tiny bar of hand soap, no body wash, one hand towel, just two bowls in the kitchen area. We had to ask for all this and didn’t get it until the next day. There was also a slight sewage smell in the bathroom. The space itself was enough for us but I’d try another place if I come back to visit!"

"A handsome historic building in a lovely and convenient spot. We had a family room that didn’t quite match expectations based on the photos and description, but it was fine. The lobby sitting area was also lovely with lots of character and the breakfast room made me feel like I was there in the 1940s as a boarding school student — in a good way. The breakfast buffet selection was solid, with delicious bread and skyr and plenty more."

"I wish I could have stayed more nights at South Central Guesthouse. This was easily one of the best guesthouses we stayed at during our trip to Iceland.
The hosts were incredibly kind, friendly, and welcoming. They went out of their way to make sure we were comfortable and were always happy to help whenever we needed anything. Their hospitality made us feel at home from the moment we arrived.
The guesthouse was clean, comfortable, and had a warm, relaxing atmosphere that made it hard to leave....
