"This is a superb hotel but I think your experience depends very much on the room you choose. The grounds are vast and various accommodation built on a hill, with reception in the beautiful main hotel whilst the restaurant and pool are higher up. "The room could use a good cleaning, especially around the windows and lights. The junior suite lacked air conditioning so a fan was provided on request. Otherwise, the hotel is in a great location offering a peaceful night’s sleep, plenty of restaurants and helpful friendly staff. "The lift was broken so the service lift was the only option. However the landing areas were 'behind the scenes' and poor quality.

"Superb hotel full of character. Our room was beautifully appointed and very comfortable. We dined in the restaurant and were very impressed with the choice offered particularly for my husband who is coeliac and has to have gluten free. Every member of staff we engaged with were so polite and friendly. Our stay was an absolute delight."
