Weekend Away

I was more than delighted with my weekend at the Mecure Hotel. It was had all the procedures of COVID-19. It was shame that the restaurant and bar were closed as it would have been really nice. The hotel was awfully however my room had a fan which was very useful. Furthermore my bed was massive despite it being a double room.

The hotel was ok don’t think I would stop again if I was in Leicester would probably check out a different hotel the only good thing I can say it was Good location if you wanted to go In the town centre but unfortunately Checking in wasn’t a good experience seemed to be one rule for some people and another rule for others When Wearing face mask and Hand sanitizing

Absolutely stunning building, tired room. In a room with limited natural light you would expect good electric lighting unfortunately this wasn’t the case. Lots of lights but low wattage bulbs. Bathroom had 4 lights with only 1 working. Staff were lovely throughout.

A good location for us to travel by train and visit Richard111 Centre and van Gogh exhibition.Bar/lounge pleasant and staff helpful and welcoming. Sadly we were given a very cold room with a non functioning radiator. The second room was the same but number 3 was ok. We met another guest who told us the heating was down in part of the hotel.

Can't recommend

The noise outside of the room was really loud and when someone else closed their door the walls where shaking. Never had this experience. Woke up first time Sunday morning at 5.30 and then woke each time someone went by outside. Apart from that, the window could hardly be opened and the breakfast was well under my expectation.

The hotel is extremely well maintained, great for the city break. Very affordable, friendly staff and great veggie breakfast. This was served to the table and hot The only disappointment point is the very slow WiFi connection at the hotel. Generally a very enjoyable stay 🤗

Location is excellent except if your room is on roadside, you will not be able to sleep due to the Sports Bar on the road which remains extremely noisy. Since there is no AC or any ventilation in the rooms, you will have to keep window open to avoid suffocation and this noise with open window will make sure that you don't sleep.

Disappointed

I didn't get to stay. Was told last minute they could no longer accommodate me. They did relocate us but our friends were staying at the Mercure so we were separated. When asked how I would be compensated for the inconvenience I received no response.
