A spring morning in April is an excellent time to visit Dunottar Castle on the north East Coast of Scotland, The daffodils are coming up and spring is in the air. Bring a flask as the breeze of the north sea is bloody freezing in April, The Castle doesn't open until 10am, Built in the 1400's it played a major role in the Jacobite uprisings of the 1715 and 1745.

"Staying at the Station Hotel was a lovely alternative to chain hotels (that lack character and are all the same). The Station Hotel was right by the station, which was great after a long train journey up, the building had traditional character and was tastefully decorated. Staff were genuine, friendly and helpful. The room was tasteful, comfortable, clean. Thanks for the stay. "
