A beautiful property. You can see they've really maintained the elegance of the house. There were just a few small things like the ceiling was a bit cracked, the faucet cap was missing, and the toilet needed to be pumped in order to flush. But the staff were great and the food was very good so all in all, I would recommend it as a place to stay.

Charming and unique historic hotel. Its an older hotel that’s beautifully furnished. Lots of windows, comfy chairs, a nice bar and dining room. It’s right off a main road and close to the Airport, so it’s very accessible.

Nice and quiet place perfect as our «hub» for daily travels and sightseeing in this part of Scotland. Good rooms and beds, and a fairly good restaurant for breakfast as well dinner.

Looks lovely but tragically run down. Broken socket in room Broken cafetiere taken down to reception for replacement and offered one that was dirty. Pool was nice but the sauna had replacement slats in I don't think that they are the type of wood for saunas and the screw head were left proud so got extremely hot to touch. The reception desk needs a tidy a lot of clutter behind it. Didn't try the food or drinks.

The hotel sits in a beautiful setting and very peaceful. Staff were very friendly. Room was light and very comfortable beds. We were there for our anniversary and would say it was rather spoilt on the Saturday as we were asked if we could make our meal slightly later at 7pm which we agreed to but didn't want later but because there was 2 large parties in we were not served until 8.30 which was unacceptable. We would have made alternative arrangement if we had been told this could happen.

Room was clean and comfortable staff very pleasant but very understaffed, with no manager to be seen things that went wrong should have been picked up. Eg breakfast items were very good but alas first impressions was not as plates laid out were obviously from dinner before as food still stuck to plates. Not a good sign. Also booked early morning call which never happened . Bar hardly open for residents .

We loved our visit! We stayed for one night with our dog, and felt welcome and taken care of. As we visited in July, the hotel was in the warmer side, but thankfully the windows in the bedroom opened and there was a small fan provided that we made use of. Dinner and breakfast was excellent. Because we had our dog with us, we were sat in the club room, but we were very happy with the service we received here, and were very comfortable at our private table overlooking the estate. The leisure facilities were very clean and had everything you need for a workout, swim, or sauna. Overall, very happy with our stay and would happily return! Only regret is not having stayed an extra night!

The only reason i gave this hotel four stars is that i had to go for the cheapest room. Had only one Tiny window and that doesn't help if you need light for work. I'm sure more expensive rooms were great, I just didn't had a chance to experience it. Restaurant was outstanding. And staff ... beypnd expectations. They will go not only an extra mile for you, but ten miles. I felt welcomed and important.

We loved the stay at Thainstone. Extremely good value considering the pool and gym are included. The room was described as 9 square metres. It was much bigger than this. Breakfast was very good
