"This was a very short trip to Welshpool to re-visit Powis Castle and gardens. Appreciated the hearty breakfast before walking up to Powis and walking the gardens for hours. Room was wonderful. The Royal Oak Hotel took me back in time to a place where courtesy and pride of place rule."

"Only stayed for 1 night while in the area for a wedding and its a perfect base. Comfortable and clean, with a great cooked breakfast. Kerry, the new owner, was really helpful and friendly and made everything super easy"
