"The staff was very nice and the hotel’s layout and shared spaces were better than expected. We had trouble with only having one key, having to use it to get the lights to work, and getting the room cool enough - but that could be due to EU bureaucratic meddling."

"The room was small but comfortable, the staff was helpful and it is within the village walls, handy to the historic sites. We skipped their breakfast and found a nice coffee/pastry shop near the market. We opted for their garage parking which proved to be the right decision."

"Five-star hotel with true five-star service! The staff were very helpful and accommodating, and went out their way to make our stay enjoyable. Facilities are stunning (on newer side) and good amenities with tennis/paddle/pickelball courts, gym and heated pool. Only thing missing for a five-star hotel at that price range would be a sauna and/or steam room. Breakfast was included and very good. Would stay again."

"Lovely character hotel with lots of charm and history! The staff at reception were excellent and very helpful. Our room was a good size with a big wardrobe, desk, and windows. The bathroom was also a good size with a shower and tub. Very quiet for sleeping. The hotel breakfast had lots of food options and was in a grand dining room or out on the terrace. We would absolutely come back to this hotel! "

"Une Pousada magnifique! La simplicité et la chaleur d’une auberge (pousada) mais le cadre d’un relais et château. Le restaurant offre de belles propositions traditionnelles pour le souper et le buffet du déjeuner est généreux et délicieux. Le service est impeccable, particulièrement Bruna qui nous a si bien servis à la salle à manger et la dame à l’accueil aussi d’une grande gentillesse. Un endroit magique, splendide qui constitue une halte parfaite entre l’Algarve et la capitale. "

"We stayed here for 2 nights. The room was well equipped, the bed was extremely comfortable, bedroom and bathroom were clean and the breakfast included was amazing. "

"Breakfast was an add on that we opted out of, so cannot comment on that. But the location was close to the square and convenient to everything we needed. The hotel is down a very tight alley, so the taxi dropoff and pickup are a bit of a walk to a wider street - this wasn't an issue for us, but note it in case. Would stay again. "
