"What a cool spot, lots of things to do around the property or just relax by the pool and sauna. This would be a fun spot for couples, great vibe and easy to be romantic, assuming you like to be spoiled and outdoors at the same time."

Additionally, the cleanliness of the room and bathroom was impeccable - not even hotels are that clean! "The apartment is very clean and comfortable. The balcony overlooking the back gardens is a big plus. Margaret is very accessible and helpful. Her garden shop is a lovely place to browse. This is our third stay and we will most likely return if visiting in the area."

"My only complaint was the check-in woman who was absolutely rude. All I wanted to do was confirm there was a kettle in the Kitchenette room I had rented. Her first rude snap was 'I don't know" I confirmed I was getting the kitchenette which she confirmed but the kettle became an issue with her finally saying - very ignorantly - that we DON"T promise a kettle and if there isn't one there, I have none to give you. "The hotel is situated close to many fast food restaurants, making it easy to grab a meal, the breakfast had a variety of food and coffee and tea available in the lobby at all times. Trying to have coffee at 6AM in the lobby, the coffee that was available was stale from the previous night the staff did promise to have a free brewing but it was ready close to 7AM the time when breakfast is made available. My suggestion is that a fresh coffee brewed should be made available at by 6AM."

"Good hotel... but the attached Irish Pub is what really makes it worth it. Great food, drinks, service and atmosphere. Convenient location as well. "

"Most things about this hotel were quite good. But there was one fundamental flaw, which undermined everything: the lack of cooling in the rooms . The air conditioner was too small to handle cooling the room. And since another guest was complaining about this very thing, it seemed that this problem was not just in my room. So there seemed to be no chance of rectifying the situation within the timeframe available. The hotel is going to have to invest in larger air conditioning units."

"Great host, Rose cares about her guests you can tell that right away. The room we stayed in was beautiful, the cleanest I think I’ve ever stayed in and it was fully stocked with soaps, coffee & even makeup wipes for my wife. Rose accommodated dietary restrictions for our breakfast no problem. The perfect place to stay for couples visiting Port Hope and looking for something a bit more special than a hotel. Summertime would be even better. "

"If you need a cute little place to stay while you are working nearby, driving on through on an adventure or a quiet get away from the city this is it. Walkable to the cute town of Campbellford, a 3km walk to the cool suspension bridge and while on route you can stop at the giant toonie. I use it for work fairly often and it's clean, quiet and peaceful."

"My room was gross. Bathroom counter disgusting. Ceiling repairs that looked like they would fail at any moment. And the desk lamp was rusty. I will never stay here again."
