"Booked lake view room paying extra. However room 20 had no view. Blocked by some trees, shrubs. The extra bed was laid down on the floor. Was not a pull out sofa or proper single bed as advertised. Macdonalds is the only option in the evening . Parking is easy once it’s basically a service stop.. There is a lake behind the proprietor which is accessible and walkable."

"Only 1 person at desk for busy check in. Dining room staff very junior and inexperienced. Ringing orders for pick up from kitchen ruined any enjoyment. Ate 2 main meals. Asked to have cab in morning and it was 15mins late. Elevator was slow and not always working."

"The location of the hotel is excellent with great walks along the river. Our room was very clean and comfortable. Some maintenance was needed to windows in our room and the corridor, with external painting needed, however otherwise our room was fine. All staff were very helpful, friendly and efficient - really good service. The restaurant menu was excellent. "The location is excellent, just a 10 minute walk to the city centre. The room wAs not modern but was very comfortable, spacious and functional. Breakfast was cooked to order with self service drinks, fruit and cereals available. Easy parking. Highly recommended."

"The Hill Hotel was a great. Everything was immaculate . Location was great as well. Less than a 5 minute walk from train station and very close to town. The owners Lynne and Terry were fabulous host. Hopefully going back to Scotland in couple of years and will definitely stay here again."
