I want to start off by saying the location was perfect, very conveniently located to everything. However, upon arrival, I find out that the elevator doesn’t work, and the receptionist didn’t even offer to help with the luggage’s. I had two luggage's that I needed to carry up two floors. Then, when I arrived to my room, the second you open the door the room reeks of a sewer smell. Given the price you pay for this property, more professionalism and cleanliness is expected. Another issue I had was that the heater would not heat up, it would only blow cold air.

This is our 3rd time at the Sotel and usually we are so happy with our stay! Unfortunately, this time we were given one of the ground floor rooms, which were much older than the upstairs rooms and could do with a urgent makeover. The beds were comfy as usual, but we had a tiny window that went out into a square of walls. The shower/ bathroom we were really unhappy, the shower was broken and the water sprayed out the back of the shower head with more pressure than the actual shower, along with no suitable drainage for the shower to drain into, so we were left everyday with a soaking wet bathroom floor, that the towels couldn’t even soak. We did report this twice and asked for extra towels to clean but this wasn’t actioned. We did ask if we could change to another room, but were told they were fully booked, even though the ‘rooms available’ was lit in the window. Luckily we are both good sleepers as all 3 nights there was loud music that sounded like it was next door, this went on into the early morning, it was annoying but we did manage to ignore it, a light sleeper would not have been able to block it out. We were really disappointed as both other times we have had a great stay, clean and tidy, which is why we chose to book again. I’m not sure we will be back due to this inconvenience, we felt very forgotten considering this was our 3rd year here. If you are staying here I would call ahead to make sure you are not in rooms 600\700. Our room was 601.

I stayed here for 4 nights recently and the location was perfect for me. I found the hotel easily arriving from Centraal, all the staff were very helpful especially the lady that checked me in, the room was nice and spacious, the bed was comfy, and the surrounding area has everything you might need while staying in Amsterdam. 10/10. I will be booking here again on my next visit

Fabulous location on a cute street. However I do not recommend this hotel if you are a light sleeper. The walls are very thin and sound transfers between rooms. I had difficulty sleeping here.

Great location and great customer service. Rooms are narrow and no lift. The front staff was very friendly and accomdated us with holding the baggage after check out. The location of the hotel is perfect and easy to find. Once again, really good customer service. Stayed for 2 nights. The rooms are pretty narrow and small with very little walking space.

Hotel was very central which was great, bed was comfy, however rooms are deceiving in the pictures, very small rooms only enough space to walk past the bed, can hear everything from neighbouring rooms, but some of the reviews on here are a bit harsh for what we paid I am happy with what we got

A perfect room if you stay for one night znd you travel light. There is no place to put your clothes away. The coathanger is almost on top of the bed. We solved it by hanging our coats in the bathroom. Good costumer service!
