"The Historic Spur Hotel is a wonderful place to stay if you appreciate genuine Texas history, character, and hospitality. I was in the area to ride my recumbent trike in the Hotter’N Hell Hundred cycling event in Wichita Falls that weekend. The hotel has an old-fashioned charm that you simply cannot find in a modern chain, while my room was clean, comfortable, and peaceful.
The owner was exceptionally kind, welcoming, and accommodating. She made me feel at home and went out of her way to help me safely store my recumbent trike. I truly appreciated knowing that both I and my equipment were well cared for.
My stay felt personal rather than commercial—more like being welcomed into a historic Texas home than simply renting a room. If you are visiting Archer City or traveling through the area, I highly recommend the Historic Spur Hotel. I would gladly stay there again."
