Another one of the cell/mobile phone pictures from this weekend's hiking. Apologies for the loss of meaningful EXIF data - I'm importing these from my iPhone by email as it is refusing to sync, and for some reason this has stripped the file of the most interesting data. This was from a really classy non-munro horseshoe just down from the Corran ferry. Whilst the terror-induced ice and snow of the day before (see www.flickr.com/photos/flatworldsedge/5198977853/) ruled out any proper camera kit, I'm reticent that I didn't take the proper stuff on this walk. That said, we were on the hills for 6-7 hours and the last descent was in the gloaming if not the dark. With a proper DSLR, it'd have added at least an hour and maybe tipped things into disaster. In any event, the iPhone bore up quite well, even if the file doesn't live up to much magnification, especially in the upper reaches of the sky. It does look better pre-upload to Flickr; the first image I've ever had to say that about.

The rooms were very comfortable and clean. The staff did a great job making us feel welcomed and making sure that we had everything we needed for our stay. It was a short walk to a great selection of restaurants and bars (pubs). We had a great stay at this hotel.

We enjoyed our 2 nights here. Great to have free parking and a washing machine. We also cooked and liked the fully stocked kitchen. The beds were comfortable and the water hot. We enjoyed the living room and could spread out.

Lovely stay, couldn't have asked for anything else
Lovely quiet stay at the bothy, we went over with no car and stocked up with bits at Fort William! despite the loo and showers being shared this was no problem at all as they were kept clean. Lovely to have the cafe next door as well, meant we were able to get breakfast and coffee easily :)

Took this trip in late November, when days are rainy, gloomy, and short, but the experience was one of a kind. Strolling through the forest I was amazed at how green everything was, all covered in moss and ferns, almost like a fairy tale. I would definitely visit it again any time of the year.

A clear blue sky over the Glenfinnan monument. A rare sight in Scotland. Makes for a good tourism shot, but maybe not a landscape award. :-) This location is found by walking up to the Glenfinnan Viaduct view point. All signposted, then continue up the path until you see the view. Not a hard climb.

This is one of my favourite photo locations. The ship makes a wonderful subject in front of the imposing Ben nevis, the highest mountain in Great Britain.
