Paradise Hot Springs - Thermal Water & Volcano Views
10/10 Excellent
"We had a wonderful 4 night stay at the Paradise Hot Springs hotel. Great location for all of the activities we did (hanging bridges, whitewater rafting and zip lining). A short (and cheap) uber to town if you want to go out to dinner ‘off campus.’ The staff was amazing, especially Andre, and very accommodating (I.e., arranged for boxes breakfasts for early morning adventure). Main restaurant is pretty good and also always have a buffet option (around $24). Hot spring pools were great after daily activities as was swim up bar which also offers decent food options. The hotel offers day passes for non-hotel guests but there is one pool and restaurant for guests only. Was foggy but decent view of volcano and had cows and horses in our ‘backyard.’ Property and rooms are very clean. Highly recommend!"
"Tabacon is a whole ecperience. From the ride through the most beautiful, lush, hillsides to get there, to the lavish world renown thermal spa that is their signature attraction. Super friendly staff all throughout the establishment. Beautiful natural gardens. Clean, modern rooms with all the ammenities. Will definitely be back."
"The room was large and very comfortable for our group of four (two adults and two teenagers). We especially enjoyed the private thermal pool, which was an awesome addition.
However, we did notice that some of the fixtures in the room are a bit dated, particularly the toilet. Updating these elements would significantly improve the overall experience.
Thermal pools were nice and spacious"

"The individual cabin style rooms are very private and cozy. Almost too cozy! We like to be woken up by the sounds of the jungle and these rooms with heavy curtains are perfect for sleeping in. It was both a blessing and a curse! I do wish they didn’t use BRIGHT WHITE lights. Soft lighting would have been better, and would go much better with their decor.
Having a front glassed in and a back open porch was great to enjoy the mornings…. We actually caught a glimpse of a Howler Monkey going by one morning! The birds we saw from our porch were incredible…. Great Curassows, Macaws, Toucans, Hummingbirds, Parakeets, Falcons, and Montezuma Oropendolas to name a few.
The breakfast was surprisingly good and the service was very friendly. We enjoyed the omelette station and fresh fruit for sure. One day they had huevos rancheros that were in a great salsa.
We had an hour long massage while there and it was great. You can’t beat the price! Be sure to tip in cash so they don’t have to pay any fees on it.
My only complaint is the hot springs are not 24 hours, and don’t open until 10AM. They don’t offer any services to speak of other than towel/locker, so I am uncertain why the hours can’t be better. Also there is nowhere to stash your towel and shoes while in the water.
Overall we were extremely happy even with that small criticism. "
"The staff here make it worth it! They are 10/10. So kind. The hotel is perfect as a main base for all the activities in the area. Greivin helped us book a spa and dinner evening before our arrival via WhatsApp and it worked out flawlessly. Rooms are simple but clean and private, everything you need for a high activity trip like in fortuna. We would definitely stay here again. "
