Pleasant 2-night stay in Ascoli Piceno.

The hotel was in the perfect position around the corner from the main square. When we checked in we were shown our room which was spacious but had no natural light. This was disappointing having booked a superior room. We were offered another room but there was only a bath with a hand held shower. So we decided to take the first room which had a large bathroom/walk in shower. The amenities in the room were good although there was a bad smell much of the time. Breakfast was good and the service was pleasant. Reception staff were polite and helpful. We did not use any of the spa facilities.

The Palazzo dei Mercanti is a wonderful place. We had a very nice stay. The room was very large and comfortable, the staff was very friendly and helpful. The hotel is only a few steps away from the beautiful Piazza di Popalo, shops and dining in the historic center of Ascoli Piceno. The street in front of the hotel was being repaired so parking was a little bit of an adventure. Fortunately the hotel has valet parking which was very convenient. We highly recommend this hotel if you are visiting the Historic center of Ascoli Piceno!

Lovely property overall. But definitely review room choices. Our room was large but kind of a strange layout. Shower in the middle of the room. Large lovely hot tub but water flows so low it would have taken hours to fill. Lots of stairs and lots of hallways between two two connected building. Wish they had been clearer about all the construction and also about the fact that windows in the room were sealed shut.
