This motel is just for a stopover to go to the mountains. The rooms are small without any TV, coffee and soap service.

Beware on checkin time
The room was fine and cleanish despite the strands of black hair in the sheets and dingy pillowcases. This was *fine* considering we were just staying there for the night HOWEVER when showing up to check in there was NO ONE to be found. While it was 9pm, hotels.com stated checkin was until 10pm. Before we panicked too much, my husband did a lap and found our room keys and information TAPED to a window in an envelope. I’ve stayed at many hotels and this was a first for me. Very creepy, and VERY unprofessional considering they could have called or contacted us with a heads up. The history behind the place is interesting but will not be staying here again. I would recommend checking out other properties nearby.

Hello, we apologize that you did not enjoy your stay with us. We try our best to keep our rooms clean for guests, and will deal with this problem right away! Our check in time as stated on our website and in your confirmation email is 3P.M., and it also states that we close at 7P.M. There is additionally a bolded statement in your confirmation email saying that if you arrive after hours, your room key will be in an envelope on the door of the office. We appreciate your feedback, have a nice day.

The property has a unique history and is close to the National Park. Setting was beautiful. We did have a small store close by which was helpful as this is a true rural location. Our room was quite large as well. Would have liked water a bit hotter, but if I am in Ashford again this would be my choice of accomodations. I will recommend this area and Mt Rainier National Park ...Nisqually Entrance.

I like it quite, easy drive to Mt rainier, clean, hot tub, simple furniture in our room, it’s simple concept that I like, only thing bothering me is the noise from next door, otherwise I really enjoyed staying there

Only 8 mins drive to the mt. rainier park entrance and the room price is competitive comparing to the neighboring hotels. The only disadvantage is that it's kind of hard to find restaurant nearby and wifi is pretty slow. Other than these, everything is perfect.

We were in the second story, and it was really hot in our room. Difficult to control the climate, but at least the window opened. Otherwise, no complaints. Great room in ideal location.

Simple no amenities
Room did not have a television, phone, refrigerator or microwave. Not a lot of food options around. Would recommend bringing something to eat that does not have to be kept cold or heated up.

For the price, the property is rundown. The beds were inadequate and the door hard to open, and the heater hard to regulate. Staff was nice, and surrounding area beautiful.

It's a room.
It was a room that worked to sleep in the night before hiking to Camp Muir. The shower was hot with a good flow rate and I didn't have to crouch. The bed was pretty lame, and the pillows were pathetic. There were a couple spiders nested in the bathroom so some toilet paper and they were flushed down the toilet. Anything that had a edge to collect dust was doing just that. I normally leave a tip for a room, but chose not to here. They had a solicitation for tip flyer which is lame, especially considering the greasy dust piled up on the corners of the shower insert. Mandatory & solicited gratuities need to go. I tip well when earned, and I like to tip well - that means I'm very happy with the service. I'd stay again because it's probably the cheapest place close to the mountain if you need to be in the park early. The ladies working in the coffee shop were both very nice. I'd recommend on a needs-based situation.

We stayed in room 1 and was totally surprised at how large the room was. Really enjoyed having this room on the end with a totally private wrap-around porch.

Rustic. And, unfortunately, noisy: from the road, from the plumbing, and from the creaky floors (if you are on the first floor, you will hear your upper neighbors). Use earplugs. Very nice coffee shop.

It was very close to Mt Rainier which is why I chose it. I paid 183.00 a night for a bare bones room with stained sheets and bath towels with holes. Had to call the desk to figure out how to turn on the shower....and was told push on the wall and pull real hard and turn. Just in extreme need of a total refresh. No Fridg, no microwave, no TV only 1 light bulb in the bathroom, no air conditioning and no screens on the windows.

Check in process was confusing. If you arrived any later than 3, they tape the key to the door…which was nowhere to be found in any of the registration emails.

We are so sorry for the confusion. Our confirmation email specifically makes clear where the key and directions to the room are placed when it's after 8pm. Maybe the confirmation went into your spam folder?

A very cozy and well furnished room #5 in a scenery area near the entrance of the Mount Rainier park. The room does not include neither kitchenette nor microwave. However, there is an indoor cafe combined with the reception and an outdoor sandwich option. A nice Ukrainian food restaurant is 1 mile away. I will recommend this motel to my friends. It is a great location and a comfortable stay.

The wifi was terrible. I usually don't need internet but I had a business issue that needed to be addressed asap and it took awhile to figure that it would sort of work only in the lobby .

Great for Mt Ranier Exploring
This place was excellent. Reasonably priced, great location for exploring Mt Ranier, clean, and charming/funky mountain vibe different than a standard hotel. Wish i could've stayed longer.
