"This is a basic older yet clean hotel. The room we were in required going outside along a short cement walkway across to a different building which was a bit inconvenient yet once there an elevator was available to take our luggage upstairs. A paid breakfast is available in a restaurant in the same building as the reception desk yet service was very slow to bring me a cup of coffee and even take my order, and I had to ask if there was a way to speed up the process or I'd have to leave (since I had a class that morning). Then my order was taken and breakfast arrived quickly. I was there when it first opened in the morning so maybe service is better once all the staff arrive. There was a coffee machine, though, by the front desk. It would be a great hotel for young people who are in the area to ski and want a place to sleep and hang out. There's a decent workout room, and being an older hotel it had some unique spaces for sitting/gathering. It's right along the interstate so easy access. It's very reasonably priced."
"This hotel was a very unpleasant experience from start to finish. First, I had to check in through a video call with a remote staff member, which felt impersonal and inconvenient.
The breakfast was honestly a joke. It consisted of old bread, watered-down coffee, watered-down yogurt, and watered-down waffles—basically just bread, coffee, and juice with no quality or variety. It felt like no effort was put into it at all.
On top of that, the staff knocked on my door four separate times between 8 a.m. and 10 a.m. asking if I wanted housekeeping. I told them no multiple times, but they kept coming back. It felt less like they were offering service and more like they were trying to rush me out before checkout so they could clean the room. They completely disrupted my sleep, and I wasn’t able to get any rest.
Overall, this was a frustrating and disappointing stay. I would not recommend this hotel."
"We stayed 4 nights. We used Americana and Flagstaff as a central point to explore the area - Petrified Forest National Park & Painted Desert, Sedona, and Wupatki & Sunset Volcano Crater. The hotel is well located to be a basecamp for exploring the region. We had one bump in our stay with the housekeeping. The welcome paperwork we were given at check in stated housekeeping was upon request or every 3rd night. When we found our room unclean midday after the 3rd night we checked in with the front desk. They said it was upon request always. We requested full housekeeping at that time. When we returned we found our trash still full and our paper products still out of depleted. We Di find the towels refreshed. The bed had been remade but the new sheets were stained. We went to the front desk again and they sent a person with a new sheet to correct the situation."
"This was highly rated and while it’s fine - it is more a lodge from the 80s or a nice motel kind of place. Beds were fine, not super comfy, rooms were small. Older carpet and carpeted baseboards harken to days of yore. We were also a bit flummoxed at the entry as we were getting in late and there was no obvious sign of entry. Also walkways to our side door were poorly lit. Manageable but dark. A small sink outside the bathroom had a loose faucet. Not bad for the price but not worthy of the 9.2 Wonderful rating on Expedia."
