"This small and charming hotel sits high upon the hill, overlooking a nearby village and the Oliphant Tea Factory. It's a quiet location, with stunning rooms - which is a welcome change if you're staying mostly in guest houses or big resorts. The staff goes out of their way to make sure everything is perfect, and the sounds and smells of nature were great - if you like the sound of birds chirping, this is a place for you. "It was a bit far from the downtown area. But not an issue for us because we have a driver. They have driver's room, but not at the same place. It was one of the best stay for us in the 2 weeks trip. Highly recommend it. The only downside is the hotel is a bit hard to locate. Its up on the hill with a very narrow street. It was quite a challenge when we had a mini van to drive up the alley. "

"I had a nice stay, but to be honest I was expecting more from a property of this standard. The room was lovely and the bed very comfortable, however the sheets, towels and dressing gown were pilled, the curtains didn't go to the end of the window, and a cracked tile in the bathroom had been badly repaired. I also found it difficult to mix the taps in the shower to get the right temperature and there were no instructions on how to operate the heater. All in all I didn't feel the quality of the room justified the price. The staff were very helpful though and friendly."
"Lovely beautifully preserved period colonial property. Staff very good. Restaurants excellent - large breakfast buffet, afternoon tea fantastic and had two very good meals at the Indian and Thai restaurants.
There is one thing that really lets it down though and that is the loud music played during afternoon tea by a flautist to a backing soundtrack and the live band in the bar at night. In my opinion both overly loud and really impact the ambience. "
"Staff was courteous. Breakfast was good. There was no hot water available until I asked them about it. Overall stay was good but I felt pretty cold in the night"
"I have stayed in many hotels around the world and Wishing Tree Boutique and Resort ranks right at the top.
The views are unreal and impossible to recreate. Waking up to that scenery alone makes the stay special.
The staff are outstanding. Warm, welcoming and genuinely happy. Service was spot on throughout, attentive when needed but never intrusive. They struck the perfect balance and gave great local recommendations without ever being pushy.
A special mention to Sampath, the manager, who is exceptional. He is attentive, present and clearly takes real pride in the experience of every guest. Nothing was too much trouble and he went above and beyond to make sure everything ran perfectly.
The food was excellent. Authentic Sri Lankan dishes were outstanding and the chef’s twists on European classics worked very well.
I also did the hotel’s three hour walking tour which was fantastic. Beautiful scenery, local nature, temples and even seeing pottery being made. A really memorable experience.
Rooms were comfortable, clean and well thought out and the whole place feels calm, personal and high quality.
I would absolutely stay again."
"La chambre est très lumineuse avec de grande fenêtre et propre. Le personnel est vraiment à l'écoute de ses clients. Nous ne voulions pas sortir pour le repas du soir alors ils se sont occupés de nous faire livrer une pizza. Nous avons manger dans la belle salle à diner. Il y a aussi un très grand salon ou il fait bon lire !"
"Clean room with hot water. Lovely receptionist who welcomed us on arrival and helped us with booking a taxi to Kandy. Only slight negative was it was slightly noisy in the mornings with staff members walking the corridors chatting and prepping breakfast. All in all really lovely place in a great location. "
