I genuinely don’t understand how this hotel has such high ratings. We booked based on the reviews and were completely misled. From start to finish, the service was appalling. Staff were indifferent and unhelpful — no acknowledgment while waiting to check in, only one staff member serving multiple guests, and only two of three people in our group were offered a welcome drink.
Our “superior” room was anything but. The photos online are misleading. The room was tired, dirty, and poorly maintained — marked walls, chipped furniture, a stained armchair, and a broken safe. The bathroom was unacceptable: mould, hair in the tub, broken shower fittings, and a drain that didn’t work. To make matters worse, there was constant, loud construction noise above our room, making it impossible to rest — even for our baby. When we raised concerns, staff dismissed us and offered no solution.
Expedia tried to contact the hotel multiple times on our behalf, but calls went unanswered and any request for help or compensation was refused. The lift was also dangerous, closing abruptly on guests — my baby’s pram and my elderly mother were both nearly injured.
The only positives were the central location and the rooftop bar staff, who were friendly and professional. Everything else was deeply disappointing. For the price paid, this was one of the worst hotel experiences we’ve ever had. Do not be fooled by the photos or reviews — look elsewhere.
