My fiancé and I stayed at the Brookhaven Hotel over the weekend of June 6–8, 2025, and unfortunately, we won’t be returning.
When we checked in we were told there was a $50 per night hospitality fee, something not mentioned during booking. We were also informed that $10 of that total ($5 per night) would be kept for “breakfast and WiFi,” both of which had been advertised as free amenities. When we brought this up at checkout, a different staff member claimed breakfast is free - but WiFi is part of the hospitality fee, so you’re still being charged $5 a night for something they say is free.
Once we got to our floor, the hall and room had a musty, stale smell with a lingering odor of smoke. The room itself was disappointing: the “comforter” was just a top sheet over a thin blanket, and when I pulled it back, there were multiple visible stains and dirty spots. We took photos and went down to the front desk, where we quietly explained the situation. The response? “Oh, they aren’t dirty, they’re stained. King size, right?” then she walked off to grab clean sheets. We were left baffled.. why are obviously stained (and dirty) linens being reused at all? To be honest, the whole room couldn’t be considered “clean”.
Additional issues: the fridge didn’t seal properly, so it barely kept anything cool. And if you’re a light sleeper, beware the back of the hotel faces the highway, and the noise is constant and intense. This isn’t normal city ambience, it’s loud and disruptive.
