I do NOT recommend this place. My family and I (total of 5) were in Auckland between Sep 11-12 and Ascotia off Queen could accommodate us. Called prior to check-in to ask if we can do early check-in and staff said to just come and they will try to accommodate, which I really appreciate. When we got there, the place was under renovation which was fine - but we had to bring our luggage to a small office and leave them there because the room wasn't available then and we didn't want to wait around the lobby because of the renovations. When we did check-in, there were flies flying about in the kitchen-dining area!!! UNACCEPTABLE!! I went down to reception to ask if there are any other available rooms, and unfortunately that was the only room that could accommodate our family. A guy came to our room with a Raid insecticide/bug spray and started spraying the room, with me and my father-in-law right there!! He opened the windows to let out the smell - a dead fly was on the window sill and he just left it there!! There was no air-conditioning, the windows had bird feces on them, the carpet was torn, a kitchen shelf was hanging, fridge door was grudgy, TV remote didn't work, elevator was dirty and was creaking dangerously, etc. I only look for cleanliness and safety when booking rooms - the website photos definitely were untrue. I DEFINITELY DO NOT RECOMMEND AT ALL - AVOID THIS PLACE.
Great location for the event we we're attending
We booked a 2brm apartment
Lots of room for the 5 of us
The shower had great pressure ๐ค
The reception staff were very nice to deal with

Liked: Staff & service
It was kind of crappy, but cheap enough to make sense. It was partially under construction which was kind of annoying , but it wasn't that big of a deal. Interesting area around the hotel, not a lot of great options to eat or shop.
An unexpected deposit fee was charged at check-in and was not disclosed during booking. The beds were terrible, like sleeping on a rock. Overall, the property was dirty, and I noticed lots of food boxes left unrefrigerated for over 24 hours
Would not recommend this. No value for the price
I came up and the windows were all open so room was cold
Tv does not work
Staff didn't answer phone calls
elevator sounds like it is going to fall apart as you ride up.
Room was dirty and sheets were not properly on the bed.

This was a basic hotel room which was good for a solo traveller on a short stay.
I stayed at a ascotia off queen motel Auckland on the 21-7-2026 when I walked in to our room I thought it was okay I asked for extra blankets for me & my son when I saw the blankets they was both dirty with dirt on one and grey hair or dog fur on the other I took them both straight down to reception and showed them I was not impressed at all. The next morning where ever I stay in a motel I always strip the bed for the cleaner's oh mate how could they not see what was on the mattresses when they make the bed it had blood staines all over on both mattresses you can tell it been there for age's so I took photos of it all and showed the guy at reception how could you let me and my son sleep on that dirty paru bed for one night all he said was oh can you email me the photos so I did no apologe at all never ever again I would stay there or even recommend my family and friends to stay there at all I'm still waiting on my refund of my bond from this motel they said it be in my account in a couple of day's still haven't received it yet.๐ก๐

Liked: Staff & service
The beds were comfortable and warm and being so close to Queen street it was surprisingly quiet and peaceful. The room we initially booked had a broken TV,and we weren't told ahead of time. There mini fridge was on the floor and carpet near it was wet,but we didn't notice right away. The staff moved us to another room for a different reason that was by no means their fault. The new room was exactly the same layout but so much cleaner and fresher than the 1st one. Made us realise how the 1st one wasn't great. I must commend staff who moved us to a better room when we realized the neighbour was smoking ( not allowed in the building)and it was coming through the vent in our bathroom. The building does need a bit more attention to the smaller details, eg hygiene could do with a small improvement. Other than that, it was a good stay
You certainly got what you pay for. The price was good and the bed and room linen was clean, but in general the property is tired and in need of a refresh.
Functional, economical bed in CBD. Room was very small but adequate for a single night. Close walk to centre of town or city loop bus steps from front door.
The facilities where clean and tidy, the building was a bit old as were the ameniites.
Very well priced and great value. Really good location. I'd stay here again.
We had a twin bed room on the top floor.
It was clean. We had problems trying to get the TV to work but the reception staff sorted it out for us very promptly.
