We were upgraded to a suite which was great. So much room. While some of the common spaces are starting to show their age the room was great and fairly modern.

Hotel Grand Chancellor Auckland
Great Hotel, we had no of the newly refurbished rooms and it was lovely, beds super comfy. Approx. 15 min walk to the Viaduct, restaurant area or a $10 Uber ride.

I have stayed here twice and both times I have pre-paid for my stays only to have this front desk charge my credit card $309. It’s like these people don’t know how to put an authorized hold on cards vs actually charging them! They also don’t take any charges from that “deposit” they just charge you ...
