"This hotel is exceptional in all aspects. My daughter and I stayed here for 7 nights and from the moment we stepped through the door we were wowed by the immaculate entrance way and the lovely fresh aroma. "Excellent room which seemed to have been refurbished recently. Bathroom really modern with an excellent, powerful shower. Two small bottles of water provided but no tea/coffee. Staff welcoming and efficient. Good location for all attractions and proximity to trams. We also enjoyed the cocktails in the not so ‘secret’ bar!"

Auch die Lage direkt an einer Straßenbahnhaltestelle mit Verbindung zur Innenstadt und zum Hauptbahnhof ist praktisch."

"Das Hotel liegt direkt am Rand der Altstadt, was ideal ist um die Sehenswürdigkeiten zu Fuß zu erkunden. Wie gewünscht, hatte ich ein ruhiges Zimmer bekommen und war zufrieden mit der Ausstattung und der Sauberkeit. Es gibt nur leider keine hoteleigenen Parkplätze. Man kann für 22 Euro in der darunter liegenden öffentlichen Tiefgarage parken, wenn diese nicht schon belegt ist. Bei meiner Ankunft waren gerade noch zwei (!) Plätze frei. Glücklicherweise habe ich einen davon gefunden, sonst wäre es...

"Ein schönes Hotel in perfekter Lage, nur wenige Gehminuten von der Altstadt entfernt. Das Personal ist freundlich. Das Frühstück war großartig. Die Zimmer sind zwar klein, aber für einen Aufenthalt von wenigen Tagen völlig ausreichend. Das Bett war hervorragend – Matratze und Kissen waren bequem, sodass wir sehr gut geschlafen haben. Wir hatten einen Balkon, was sehr schön war. Parkmöglichkeiten gibt es ganz in der Nähe am Bahnhof; das Hotel stellt hierfür ein vergünstigtes Ticket zur Verfügung....

"Gute Lage, fussläufig zu Hauptbahnhof und Altstadt, aber auch Bus- bzw Straßenbahnanbindung (auch zu Messe/Stadion) Zimmer sind auch zur Bahnseite ruhig, da doppelte Fenster schalldicht sind Klimaanlage vorhanden, aber nicht besonders leistungsstark Gutes Frühstück Barservice auch am späten Abend durch Personal an der Rezeption"

"I experienced unfriendly staff and unwelcoming staff at the Hotel zum Roten Bären. Harsh, curt and rude. Somewhat shocking for a hotel that prides itself on being the oldest hotel in the Region! The room itself was spacious and light by European standards but had no coffee machine, or mini fridge. Coffee would be available downstairs on weekends at 8 a.m. and 7 a.m. during the week. During our stay it was 100 degrees in Freiburg and of course the room didn't have air conditioning. But opening...

"Saubere, moderne Unterkunft. Sehr nettes und aufmerksames Personal. Das Frühstück ist hervorragend. Das Buffet ist frisch und immer wieder aufgefüllt. Die Lage des Hotels ist perfekt, da die Altstadt schnell, fußläufig zu erreichen ist."

"The room is spacious. However, the internal design was still the old fashioned type. Only one complimentary bottle of water per stay which is a bit disappointing. The fitness centre is small and connected with swimming pool and is quite hot. Not sure if there is air-conditioning or not and so you cannot exercise much. However, the staff are nice and friendly which i appreciate."

"La personne à la réception parlait français ce qui est rare. Chambre propre, assez grande, un ventilateur à disposition ( indispensable vu la chaleur), lit très confortable. C'est parfait. Bon petit déjeuner. Bon hôtel à recommander."
