"This is my third time staying here over the last year. I have finally found a value hotel along my 15 hour travel route from the deep South to Michigan that I can be confident that I won't have a room that smells even a hint of cigarette smoke. I have always booked this hotel for 70 or under. I don't like paying more than that since I'm only there usually from late night to very early the next morning. The room is a suite, and, while dated, it is spacious and very clean. The bed is comfortable enough. The TV works and has many channels. The breakfast offers a waffle maker, which is the most important item for me. Otherwise, it is basic. I think I saw eggs and sausages, but I would not eat any hotel sausages under any circumstance.
The hotel feels safe, as it is in the middle of nowhere and sits atop a hill. A 24-hour gas and convenience station sits at the bottom of the hill. It has a grill and seating area, and they were still cooking food orders after midnight when I stopped in for snacks. The burgers ordered by two cops looked delicious. The hotel displays signed photos of race car drivers who stayed there before the adjacent speedway closed. Overall, this is a good hotel for the rate. If you only stay in 3 and 4 star hotels and require many amenities and a modern aesthetic, you will not like it. But my goal is only a clean, fresh air room for a single traveler under 70 dollars. It works perfectly for me."
