"WORST HOTEL WE’VE EVER STAYED AT. I dont usually leave bad reviews as I like to help small businesses but this hotel needs new management. The rooms and property are filthy and feel like a crime scene. Old dilapidated rooms. No hot water in shower at night the whole stay. Only 3 channels on the TV... No one came to clean room, change sheets, towels the whole stay despite repeatedly asking. Toilet paper ran out and they didn’t bring more as they said they only worked mornings. They never even came to our room. Barely anyone was staying in the hotel. No clean towels. There were other poroblems with room but you get the idea how bad it was. I was then locked out of room at night as card stopped working and their was no one to provide a new card. A sign was left on counter that they were helping a guest with their room which was false. I walked around property looking for someone for ages, came back and repeatedly hit the bell. Then the Indian owner finally came out of office where he had been asleep…. And then after leaving the hotel he decided to charge our card for nights we weren’t even there, not the agreed upon rate, plus a $25 fee for leaving at 11:05am. Check out is 11am. We've disputed it all with bank. There are some great hotels in Glasgow. We chose this because it was cheaper. You get what you pay for. Steer clear of this one. There was no refund so couldnt leave. Horrible experience "

"It's difficult to find a good place to stay near Mammoth Cave. This railroad inn is a good place. The owners breakfast, and room are all great. The inn has two bedrooms, and the other one was empty. The inn sits by a double RR track and the trains are noisy BUT no train came by all night. The bed's great. Decor is Victorian; there's a gift shop there focused on their high tea side business. Downsides: Rocky Hill is a tiny town with no amenities and not even anything worth looking at. The inn is old but not pretty to look at on the exterior. It does have a nice, long covered porch. We weren't told in advance (not that I noticed) that there's a no-alcohol rule at the inn. It's 20 minutes to the cave from there. I've been in many caves, and while Mammoth Cave is the world's longest, and the visitor center and staff are great, the cave itself is not very much worth seeing. There are many more-interesting caves in America. But if you need a nice place to stay, close to Mammoth Cave, this is it! Recommended."

"The shower head had GREAT water pressure and the fridge kept our leftover food cold. Those are the highlights. The room smelled fine… until you got near the bathroom and then it smelled like a urinal. The sink was dirty. Everything about the room was simply run down. Old exposed wall anchors from where the TV used to be. Peeling (or partially peeled off) 35 year old wallpaper in the toilet/shower area. For as strong as the water pressure was in the shower, I’m surprised the toilet could flush the water in the bowl (really weak flush). The sink countertop front facade was dangling. There is an exposed gap at the bottom corner of the door to the outside. The gutters outside of the room were ineffective. The lighting was terrible throughout. The beds were two different heights and of differing firmnesses. The pillows were as soft as folded up sheets stuffed in a pillow case. “Continental breakfast” was practically non existent (there were two cereal dispensers with no bowls, spoons, or milk; there was a toaster with no bread or pastries; coffee wasn’t even attempted in the coffee pots). We asked for water and ice to fill our refillable water bottles as we checked out and all he could offer was a room temperature Coke. This was the worst place I’ve stayed. Period. I don’t have super high standards and I know the area doesn’t have a lot, but I would have preferred to sleep in my car. If the price was half of what we paid, it would have been too much. Terrible value."
