After checking in we went to the room, #211, and immediately discovered dirt and debris on top of both beds. Went back downstairs and informed the desk clerk who was very apologetic and immediately offered another room informing me there was no staff to go in and clean it.
We went to the that room, which was across the hall #212, and were hit with a mildew odor. It wasn't too bad so I turned on the A/C and after several minutes it dissipated. We began settling in and then discovered that the bedding underneath the cover sheet was stained with brown patches and what looked like drops of blood on the other bed. Additionally, the shower/tub area had mildew growing along the grout lines. Once again we requested another room, this time a room on the 4th floor was offered.
We went to it and the odor in that room was so offensive that we couldn't bear it. At this time we we decided enough was enough and we checked out. On top of everything else the hotel had no wifi and was no longer serving breakfast. Also, there seemed to be possible criminal activity going on in the lobby.
I respectfully ask that Expedia obtain a refund from Sonesta Select Austin North and return it to my credit card account.
