"This is one of those hotels that you almost don't want to talk about for fear of it becoming too popular. The owners are very friendly and it feels like being a guest in a private home with staff to take care of everything for you."

"I spent two days here and it was unlike any other lodge/hotel I’ve been to before. The rooms are beautiful, the pool is stunning, the jungle gym is also such an amazing addition but nothing tops the the host himself, he made sure every question was answered and I truly felt at home almost 4000 km from Canada. Pura vida!!"

"We had a beautiful 3 days at Capitán Suizo! It was clean, comfortable, and the food was delicious! But the most amazing part was definitely the staff - they were attentive, welcoming, and truly went above and beyond. The hotel is super peaceful but an easy walk to all the restaurants, stores and nightlife if that’s what you want. Thank you all for a great stay! "

"The room was very nice and clean; staff were helpful as well. The owner actually helped troubleshoot my electric stove from Prague over video chat, that was cool of him to do that. This was a great stay. However, it felt like a couple's retreat and as a solo traveler it was A. Tad discouraging at times as I was there for 8 days; though perhaps a lack of research on my part. That aside, this place was pretty awesome and close to a local well-pressed grocery store. I would definitely stay here...

"Latica lodge was amazing to stay at! If you’re looking for that community vibe then this should be on the top of your list. Everyone from all over the world staying there, all having breakfast/supper together was spectular. The owners are everyday people willing to help you out with everything they made the stay so enjoyable. "We had a wonderful stay at the beach bungalows during our honeymoon! The grounds are beautiful, quiet and peaceful, all while being in a great area to walk anywhere in Tamarindo. We felt well taken care of by the staff and really felt like it was our only little world away from the chaos. We even got a special little message in our bungalow for our honeymoon which was such a nice personal touch. We had wonderful neighbours while staying. We can’t wait to come back and hopefully with our friends...

"We absolutely fell in love with the Pipe House charm and the warm and friendly owner! Great vibes, beautiful location just steps from the beach, unique lodgings and fun common areas to hang out. We can’t say enough about this gem of a place. We ate dinner down the way at the Swells Cafe Playa Grande. This is a very special place to be! I plan on returning in the future. Hopefully sooner than later. "
