Staybridge Suites Jackson by IHG

"I stayed in a two bedroom suite with my family of four. The setup of the rooms was excellent, but the room was very worn and dirty. Upon arrival I was concerned that the parking lot was very dark with no lighting. I looked to see if security cameras were visible and they were nowhere to be seen. It could be that simply did not see them but the lot felt very unsafe. The staff member at the desk was extremely polite and welcoming. I have nothing negative to say about that experience. The couch appeared to have cigarette burns and many stains. The carpet was also stained and dirty. One bathroom was covered in small spiders. We killed approximately 20 spiders upon arrival and more kept appearing. We even observed them climbing out of the shower head. The spiders did appear to be contained to only the one bathroom. I will say that the beds and pillows appeared very clean and were extremely comfortable. The hospitality area was also dirty. The ceiling was literally falling in, large clumps of hair on the floor leading up to the area. The waffle station was a plus and my kids loved the muffins. I appreciated that high protein yogurt and cheese omelets, sausage and hash browns were available. The coffee was plentiful and drinkable. Overall not the best experience and I wouldn’t stay here again due to the spiders and lack of overall cleanliness. It’s hard to sleep well when you think Aragog might carry you away in the night."

"Let me start by saying that the staff here are all wonderful! Everyone was welcoming and friendly. However, this property is not befitting the Hilton brand. You can tell it was once a very nice hotel but years of neglect have taken their toll. There is only one functional elevator. The air in our room was barely functional and the area was under a heat advisory so it was at times very uncomfortable. We didn’t use the pool because the water was very cloudy. We did enjoy sitting at the bar for happy hour and the two ladies working were a lot of fun! The worst thing was when a guy approached my husband in the parking lot while I checked in saying he had just gotten out of jail and needed $10 for the night. Needless to say that made us feel unsafe and we won’t likely be returning to this location."

"One of the best breakfasts I’ve ever eaten in a motel or hotel. And the only problem we had was the one chair in our room so one of us had to sit on the best to watch television. We did “steal” another chair from the lobby but the cleaning crew returned it after a couple of days, but we were leaving by then. :) Everything else was exceptional plus!"

"I have had various surgeries in the past so I have reserved handicap enabling rooms even though I don’t use any helpers now. The room they gave me was on the second floor. There was an elevator nearby however should an emergency arise the evacuation route in both directions involved stairs. That can be a challenge if needing a cane and all but impossible with a walker or wheelchair. There was still a bathtub in the bathroom. It had a bench but I roll in shower would have been better"
