The check in process is pretty bad if anything has gone wrong with your booking - similar to using a dodgy third party website to book a flight, everything is probably going to be fine if you’re lucky.
We arrived however our phone number had not been registered with the system so we were left standing outside with no staff in sight. A sign on the door gives an email address (which didn’t respond until 6 HOURS later) and a Norwegian phone number which is not available on WhatsApp (who decides to set up chain accommodation across Norway and thinks it is okay to be uncontactable by anybody outside of Norway?¿?).
I tried to contact the number using a hotel phone and nobody answered. We luckily had a staff member wander past us and after 2 hours managed to check in. We booked this through Expedia and the card details had to be updated since it had expired, so even though these had been updated 3 days before our stay, Vander had failed to make any further attempts to accept payment even though Expedia sent an email confirming the accommodation was booked.
I later found some emails in my Gmail account from Vander which had gone to my spam. Check your spam if you’re going to book this, and try to check in early because the last staff member leaves at 5pm.
Otherwise, the property was lovely. The location isn’t perfect and parking was somewhat difficult/expensive but the property itself was good value.
