"Very friendly staff(Becky on the bar was lovely).Room was great with plenty of tea, coffee and hot chocolate available.Great choice of drinks on the bar."
"Room wasn’t set up for a family and they changed our room last minute, bed was really uncomfortably sore back and couldn’t sleep , shower was no power in it at all , staff looked run off there feet but were lovely,
Breakfast wasn’t that hot but it was really busy "
"Varied choice for breakfast, although hot food was cheap, overcooked and cold on the servery.
Rooms were dated and unclean, sleeping on a park bench would have been more comfortable than the bed provided!
We arrived late (after 10pm) had to pay for 24 hour parking permit, not listed as a requirment and when asked if we could stay past the 10am check out was told could be arranged at £15 per hour for up to 2 hours!
Ammenities such as the pool, sauna, etc were actually closed, (opening hours are between 9am -3pm!)
Hotel is in dire need of some maintenance, a lick of paint would do wonders!
The old woman on reception was rude and arrogant especially when asking about staying later, but when I pointed out the data breach, giving me a door card in a stapled envelope showing details of a previous guest (name, telephone no, address, email, etc) she wasnt bothered! Shall not be back, ever.
My advice, find a better hotel or guest house, nothing grand about this hotel"
"Staff very nice and helpful, room nice, beds really comfy, and crisp linen. Basic shower room needs upgrade but worked ok.
Downside, the room was next to the back of restaurant so staff smoked under our room window all hours, and where coughing loud so not nice.
Also was freezing, waited for heating to come on in the evening and morn but didnt, left early morn as to cold and smell of smoke was off putting."
"We wanted to add our son to our room the night before our booking, the lady we spoke to over the phpne went out of her way to accommodate us. Also, hotel staff were helpful, hotel was fresh and clean and there was plenty of choice for breakfast."
"How this place is still open is beyond me!! The whole place smells of damp and another smell that hasn’t even been identified by scientists. the ceiling is falling in throughout the hotel, and my room had a metal rot sticking out of it. My room wasn’t cleaned bin was full of old food/rubbish, shower looks like you could catch a bacterial infection, the toilet was covered in urine etc, the beds weren’t changed. The carpet is pure filth and hasn’t seen a hoover since the 90s probably when it was put down.
The walls all covered in stains and holes and can’t forget the mould that’s growing.
When I went to say about my room not being cleaned, the “cleaner” said she would clean it AGAIN not sure what type of humour that was.
I would not stay there even if I was paid!!! It is a hazard throughout."
