Overall it was a pleasant stay. The staff were friendly and the breakfast was good. The room was clean and quite spacious. The hotel is nicely situated giving you access to the Loch Logan complex and the industrial areas as well.

I have stayed at City Lodge Bloemfontein before, and each time I have found it to be a pleasant place, very conveniently situated for my purposes. I observed that the room telephones have been removed since my last visit, and now there was no information in my room - instead one is referred to an app. I think that is not a good idea - it is as if they are skimping on extras to save a little money. The hotel is very clean and the staff are friendly and efficient. It was good to find that the evening menu has been expanded. Previously there were about six choices in total as 'bar snacks' - now they call it a 'restaurant' and a more comprehensive menu is offered. Service in the evening has improved also. The result was that I ate in each night I was there, instead of getting meals elsewhere.

Short but sweet stay in a cold Bloemfontein

City Lodge Hotel in Bloemfontein is a very good hotel, food is nice and tasty, service excellent. The only downside is that it doesn’t have a lift service, and if your room happens to be on Floor 2 (they only have 2 floors…luckily) like the one I had, it meant carrying my heavy suitcase on the stairs both for check-in and check-out.

All was pretty good. Other thsn the position of the tv in the room. Tv was on the far right and the beds towards the left. My wife ordered roated vegetables, food was very poor and poor value for money.

Housekeeping needs to clean bathrooms properly

The hotel room was okay, but the bathroom was dirty with mould on the shower wall tiles and green algae in the basin with a bad stench. There was loud music playing in the courtyard below until 11h00.

Wheelchair accessibility

I'm a paraplegic using a wheelchair. The service, cleanliness, affordability and location was great but the wheelchair accessibility was not that good. I'm using a bath but all the wheelchair friendly rooms have showers and I had to use a general room because of that and it was difficult for me to move around the room and bathroom. They should also have accessible rooms with bathrooms if possible. There is also no direct access for wheelchairs to the swimming pool area and I had to go right around the hotel and enter through a back gate and over a area with grass to get to the pool area. They should have a ramp from the hotel/restaurant area to the pool which will give wheelchair patrons direct access to the pool area.
