"Always wanted to stay at the Hydro Majestic and it was amazing. The views were majesterial along with the setting and history.
The main menu was pricey but we met an amazing lady called Sarah who ran the pavilion cafe, the best coffee and service in the blue mountains.
We missed out on dinner reservations, that’s how popular it is! There was no judgment or issue getting take away from many of the amazing places in Katoomba, like Rustico, and having that in one of the many spaces within the complex.
Overall great service, blanket was super human tucked and amazing location and piece of Australian history. Would definitely return for a stay"
"For an old Motel, I found it clean and comfortable. Position close to shops and public transport, it was very handy for my stay, as I traveled there by train. I stayed in winter and the air-conditioning kept the room very warm and the staff were very pleasant on my stay."
"We had 2 rooms, one room was good (120) but the other room (119) had a damp musty smell possibly from bathroom drain. The smell was quite overpowering and I mentioned it to reception when we checked out , the receptionist thanked me for the feedback and said she would arrange for it to be checked.
Overall this was a very positive stay for 1 night. The restaurant was excellent we dined there on Saturday evening, great food and very attentive staff.
We had breakfast on Sunday morning which was very good.
Would definitely go back but may ask for a different room next time"
"We were there for a winter stay, so the heating from the aircon was greatly appreciated. The continental breakfast which was included in the price was copious, with different breads, muffins, crumpets, and jam, marmalade and honey as well as fruit juices and a good choice of cereals. Organic teas and instant coffee were provided. Espresso coffee was available for an additional charge. There was a comfortable and roomy lounge, a little chilly in winter, but we can imagine it would be really great in summer. We still spent an hour or so each evening playing Scrabble with our friends and other guests used it as well. Staff are not available in the evening (though there is an emergency telephone number), but when we had two small problems (one of our own making) in the afternoon they were quick to help. We hope to be back another time."
