"This place was a wonder spot to explore the area. Our hosts were very welcoming. The Chateau is extremely well decorated and restored. The rooms are large and have every luxury.
There is a wonderful dog at the property that is very friendly. For those that have an expensive car that they do not want scratched by a happy dog jumping up, best to park before the property and walk in. Let the owners know you have arrived and they will make sure that Skye is in the house until you park."
"Genuinely stunning. The owner was very welcoming, friendly and hospitable - despite my broken French! They had some excellent recommendations for the local area and shared some fascinating history of the hotel and the grounds.
The setting is absolutely beautiful, sitting on a gentle hillside with views of the valley. There is a river swimming spot two minutes down the driveway which is perfect for cooling off.
The building itself is wonderful -full of wooden floors, antique furniture and paintings. The rooms are attractive and characterful with comfortable beds and a clean, modern bathroom.
Breakfast on the terrace was a lifetime highlight! The local breads and homemade jams are delicious, and the view is spectacular. Sitting amongst the fruit trees with coffee and brioche was wonderful!"
"The manager was extremely helpful and friendly , lovely view from balcony overlooks the river , free parking across the river, best to drop off cases at hotel and then park up.
Lots of restaurant and food options nearby."
"Beautiful hotel in a gorgeous setting. Room was very spacious with own balcony overlooking gardens. We had dinner in the restaurant on one night on the patio which was wonderful. Very attentive staff. Breakfast let it down slightly with choices, we only found out on second day we could ask for eggs. Would highly recommend the hotel"
"The staff and property are even more wonderful in person! The restaurant is intimate in the most charming and elegant manner. The food is exceptional!"
"Just a one-night stay, but after one night, we wanted to stay a week. The personnel were not just helpful, they were downright AWESOME. Above and beyond.
We came in around lunchtime and opted to eat on property. Best decision we could’ve made. The small staff made the most of their culinary skill. The lunch was perfect. Homemade jams and other special touches made it so. Seriously perfect. When we are in town for dinner and had a less-than-subpar experience, we remarked, almost in unison, “We should’ve eaten on property.”
The room was a standalone bungalow up a short path. The configuration of the property was quirky in all the right ways. There is a small outdoor pool (which we knew was there at booking but didn’t use), and the room was very comfortable. Bed linens were just right and the bathroom was ample. Each room has a hard key and a safe key. Took a little to get it right, but no issues. If you need to stock up on snacks, you’re about a hundred meters from the Aldi.
We had indicated we’d have breakfast, and despite getting up earlier than anticipated and wanting to hit the road, we stayed for one last taste of the incredible service and hospitality here.
If you like cookie-cutter, don’t stay here. If you like a unique, personal experience, book now."
"Christian and Katherine are fantastic hosts and took exceptional care of us. The rooms are spacious, comfortable and well looked after. The food and wine were exquisite with stunning views over the river. Really special place. Thank you! "
"Lovely traditional farmhouse in a beautiful, quiet rural setting and very dog-friendly. Sandrine is an excellent host, providing us with a delicious dinner and breakfast. Our room & bathroom were spotless and very comfortable. This was our first visit, but we will definitely be back!"
