"A lovely quiet place perfect for a night away. Clean and comfortable. Great host, always there to help out. Just be aware that the hot tub is a paid extra, something that is not mentioned but that is not the hosts fault. They are unsure why that information is missing from the listing. Hotels.com were useless at trying to sort that out. But don't hesitate to book this place, just maybe drop them a message about using the hot tub first. "The staff were friendly and helpful, the room was clean with all the amenities with tea and coffee making facilities. When we were shown our room and we had to take the stairs to get to it, my wife didn't expect this. Once in the room, my wife was expecting a robe but none was provided. There is a radiator in the room which we had to use in the morning. We had a quiet and peaceful night. We had dinner and it took some time but it was worth the wait, the food was excellent. The next morning, we had breakfast which was included, it was very good. We enjoyed our stay there. My wife was trying to ring on the same day after 12 pm, she could not get an answer."

"The room was clean, but dated. The staff were friendly and very helpful We didn't have breakfast there, but only because we had other arrangements. We did have dinner the three nights we stayed, all of the meals were excellent and well presented. Parking was not a problem, enough space for all guests and staff. The hotel is an old property that oozes character and the garden is quiet and relaxing. The room we had does need some tlc to be honest, but for 3 nights it was acceptable."

"Our rooms looked nothing like the photo’s on here. The carpets had huge stains on them and the furniture was dated and beat up. Our window would not open and the frame was rotting. Our bathroom was dark and the shower would sporadically turn burning hot to freezing cold. The women’s toilets in the bar area had multiple out of order signs on the doors and the one I was able to use had a huge hole in the wall where tiles were missing and broken. The whole place has seen better days! In addition, the staff seemed irritated when we arrived and were quite rude to use and other members of our group (there were 23 of us). The only positives were the breakfast and the location."
