The “okay” rating was generous. This property was old and outdated. While this seemed to want to portray a small town flavor, it communicated more of a shabby flavor. Under the entry door, there a big space which left in cold air. Although this was a larger room than others we saw that our friends were in, the lighting was dim, the tv was so small it was difficult to view from the far side of the room. Housekeeping were good, yet the old furnishings fell short. The ac unit was mounted so high on the wall that one had to stand on a chair to operate. The first experience with the shower was painful. Once turning on the water, which was difficult in that it took a great deal of strength to “pull out the control. The control turned in circles, perhaps passing the “hot water” section, which made temperature control perilous. That wasn’t the only painful part, once the control was pulled out to allow the flow of water, one was pelted with high pressure stinging water spray. To say the least it was rustic. The grounds were nicely kept, however the windows in our room backed up to where the dumpster was located which caused loud noise when someone was dumping the garbage at 7:30 am, while the kids staying with us were sleeping!
We were attending a wedding. It is unlikely Bridgeport CA would be a location we’d return to. Hope Valley looked like it could be a better option.
