"Great value and good quality throughout. Room was a good size, well equipped and clean. Plentiful parking and gardens were immaculate. Restaurant was more of a pub style theme and good value with a good selection for breakfast for the breakfast serving."

"Family room - the room, beds and shower room all clean. Plenty of pillows with the option of firm and soft, duvet is a little small for the bed and the one on the sofa bed was also too small if 2 sharing, so you may need to request extra ones. Aircon is fab for the summer kept the room lovely and cool. Sofa bed is a tight squeeze for 2 children but bed has plenty room for 2 adults. Communal areas very clean and spacious although the dining area can get a little busy during the breakfast. As for...

"Lovely situation - large room that was clean. However walking in it felt quite down at heel, a bit like a scruffy airport waiting area. We ate in the restaurant on arrival - the food was edible. However, the staff at reception and in the restaurant were welcoming and attentive."

"The Kiln Hotel in Wakefield has the look and feel of a run down American Motel that has been abandoned several decades ago. Desperately in need of refurbishment it appears that the new owners have not made any improvements since taking over from Campanile Hotels. The room I stayed in for 1 night looked as if it had not been decorated for 20 years and still had a lingering odour of Cigarette smoke. "Bathroom had a good shower Worse thing about this hotel was the let down on the key card wouldn’t open door every time we went out If had been by myself I would have been very very worried we tried everything one lady from reception brought up a machine to try it BUT next morning back to square one. I was disappointed as it was for me to try this hotel for me to come by myself when I come back to Barnsley to visit my family"
