"You can’t fault the staff at every level, the rooms are a good size and the sea views are great, although some of the carpets are getting a bit thread bare with over use, and a few repairs and replacements wouldn’t go amiss considering its status as a 5 star hotel, can’t really call it shabby chic, you do have to watch out at weekends for the dance club across the road that likes to keep you entertained until the early hours, and doesn’t really make any difference even if you close the window....

"Spotlessly clean and comfortable. Staff were very welcoming and helpful in recommending places to go in Olhao. Relaxing pool area. Location was good, just a short walk from the town and marina. We didn’t eat breakfast in the hotel as we felt that local cafes had more atmosphere. We really enjoyed Olhao and would choose the Cidade again. "

"Very nice hostel with good facilities and outdoor space. The shower did leak onto the floor and it was a bit silly to ask for €20 cash as a deposit to use the iron and hairdryer (I have never had to hand over a deposit for these) as I was on my way home the next day and didn’t want to get it out in cash. I managed to convince the receptionist to give both to me without a deposit in the end! Overall really comfortable stay. "
