"Re-furbished bedroom with ample space and balcony overlooking the esplanade so ocean view. The bathroom and tiles always gives away the age of the property. The bathroom sink did have a large crack in it. Shower was really powerful with instant hot water. Room climate control was on the cool side. Opening the door onto the balcony does switch it off. Bar and restaurant on ground floor so very convenient for a late arrival. Plenty of choice for the breakfast buffet."

"We really enjoyed our stay at the Palazzo. It was a little tricky to find the parking garage at first, so we ended up parking in the central outdoor area and walking in. Our original room wasn’t ready upon arrival, but the staff quickly accommodated us with another room. The room itself was clean, cool, and very comfortable. Having a washer and dryer in the unit was a big bonus, and it was convenient that detergent was provided. The property felt very secure, with key fob access required for...

"The pool is lovely, and also the rooms are in good condition. However, the room service was not good, although they come for cleaning everyday, they didn’t even bother to vacuuming hair from bathrooms, and also using the same sheets for 4 days, putting a card for not changing them unless requested in the drawers. The variety of food was average for breakfast, and the drinks of the bar are expensive. "

"For what it's worth, the room had efficient and stable AC as well as a working TV, free WiFi, and attentive staff. Unfortunately, some of the guests at my party decided not to stay upon arrival as the listing was nothing like the actual property, and it was very much a nicer version of a hostel. The area was extremely unsafe, and the walls were thin. Not bad if you want a cheap stay, as I imagine the hostels in the area were horrific. If you are looking for luxury/comfort, this is not the place....

"The staff at Oaks Cairns were absolutely lovely, very friendly and accommodating. Beautiful room and great central location, walking distance to most activity meetups, great restaurants and shopping. I had an unfortunate experience at the Double Tree by Hilton and ended up needing a room last minute, even though Oaks Hotel Cairns had nothing to do with the poor experience at Double Tree Hilton, they gave me a free drink voucher to help improve my night. I would absolutely stay here again and...

"Room was clean, quiet and good for a few days stay. Good things: washer, iron & ironing board, good sized fridge, dishes, a/c, separate bedroom. Bad: no elevator - had to carry our luggage up 3 flights, never saw desk staff, couldn't figure out how to get the dryer to start, no shampoo, small bars of soap, longer walk to places than we thought, TV had limited channels."
