"This hotel has the potential to be great and I booked it because it’s listed as 5 star, however there are a few things that let it down. I have never stayed in a 5 star before where I have had to pay to use a roof top pool - being 5 star I would expect this as standard. The same applies for the beach club - €24 a day to use loungers a whole €1 discount on the standard cost. These are advertised as features of the hotel but really ramp up the price if you want to use them daily and leave you with only 1 pool option when advertised as 2 and a beach club. There are way to few loungers by the free pool for the size of the hotel and again I do not expect to see people doing a towel dash in a 5 star where pool sides are normally managed. The hotels location isn’t great (aside from its closeness to the beach) it’s surrounded by shops full of rubbish and derelict hotels/shops. The main town is apx 8-10 mins away. I was shocked by the amount of people thinking it’s acceptable to throw midnight gatherings on the balcony and on one night, I had to call reception 4 times before it got sorted which wasn’t ideal. Lastly the main bar in the hotel was closed the whole time BUT the bar by the pool serves lovely food and drinks. On a positive the rooms are beautiful just needs a bit of fine tuning to make this the 5 star experience it’s sold as."
