I booked two rooms for our group, and after a long 12-hour drive from Vancouver, British Columbia, we arrived at 7 PM. To our surprise, one of our rooms had not been cleaned at all. The bed wasn't made, there were dirty towels, and we even found cigarette butts and leftover chips on the table. Considering check-in time is guaranteed at 4 PM, we expected the room to be ready.
I immediately approached the front desk and requested to move to a different room, as we were exhausted from the drive and just wanted to rest. Unfortunately, the staff didn't seem willing to explore any solution. Instead, they told us we'd have to wait 15 minutes for housekeeping to clean the room. We found this unreasonable and decided to wait outside, as it seemed impossible for the room to be properly cleaned in such a short amount of time. (And honestly, I doubted they’d even change the sheets!)
On top of that, the front desk staff member was not approachable or helpful. Her demeanor gave the impression that she wasn’t interested in assisting us, which was incredibly frustrating.
While the building itself may be older, the lack of customer service made the experience even more disappointing. I wouldn't recommend staying here based on the poor service.
