"A very cool experience to say the least! The rooms were amazing, views from the rooms were incredible, and the old palace and accompanying parador were very cool to explore and very beautiful. The restaurant in the Parador was good, however for the price I felt like it was a little bit underwhelming, though no regrets! If you want a really unique experience I'd definitely recommend staying here!"
"Very tired hotel. Bedspreads were fraying, beds and pillows uncomfortable, could hear people talking in adjacent rooms ( until 3 in the morning), heard doors slamming all night, heard others flushing toilets, barely adequate air conditioning. Not close to historic center. Jaén has 4 Michelin Guide rated restaurants, but other than the Parador out of town, a lack of hotel options. Disappointing hotel given Hotels.com misleading reviews."
"The location is perfect for visiting Jaen, right in the heart, with a public car park 200m away (no vehicle access to square) Breakfast was good, the staff helpful.
A big problem is, you can hear every sound made in the adjacent room as though they were in your own room, including bathroom noises. We had to ask reception to ask the people in the next room to kill the noise at 12.30am, didn't get to sleep for another hour. The safe didn't work, the in room phone didn't work, we had to go down 2 floors at 12.30am to speak to reception. The windows didn't lock. Would only go back if these problems were resolved."
"Beautiful place, lovely hosts. Mady and Marc are super friendly and helpful. The place is pure peace and tranquility. The location was ideal for me. Was able to drive to Granada, Córdoba and Seville from there and a few trips to the beaches as well. Spectacular scenery all around. Granada is beautiful."
"The hotel is surrounded by nature and ideal for people who enjoy peace and quiet. Also ideal for those travelling with pets. The restaurant serves good food and hotel staff where very friendly. Our room was clean and had comfy beds. On-site parking available. Only downside was an 'occasional' stench in the room from the drains."
"This was by far one of the worst hotels I’ve ever stayed in. The staff asked for credit card numbed over WhatsApp before I even arrived. Nobody told me there wouldn’t be hot water until I found out myself and asking, the room was disgusting, smelled of smoke, trash and standing water in the shower from the previous guest. Somehow the room was blistering hot despite it being December and the AC didn’t work. "
