"The hotel and staff are fantastic and we had a wonderful time. But I am unhappy with the $1000 deposit required at check in. First I find it far too high and second the process to refund it was very strange. At check in they charged my credit card $1000 and then at check out they said they had to run it again for another $1000 before they could refund the original $1000. None of this made any sense to me and I was left with two $1000 receipts and only one showing a refund of $1000. I don't...

"The property in still in a phase of construction/ remodel on one of the buildings but that did not hamper our stay at all. They were very attentive and accommodating. We had a booking issue with expedia and Antonio was great to compensate for the error and put us in a room when he had none. "Our stay in Alaya was the perfect getaway from our good Canadian winters. The dome was a beautiful experience and made for a very romantic stay when relaxing under the stars on the suspended net before jumping in our private hot tub. The space was incredibly clean and the staff was always ready to help. The restaurant had a farm to table concept (they have their own permaculture farm on the land) and was beyond our expectations, not to mention the breathtaking view of the valleys and the ocean...
