"When we first checked in to the hotel (rooms 333 and 334), the rooms were clearly not dusted in a while (could see visible dust on the nightstands, lamps, water bottles, rods in bathroom etc.). The sofa had large spots and were dirty. The WiFi was spotty too (general property had 30+MBps while the room had a weak ~1MBps had frequent connection drops). We immediately called the reception and let them know about the issue. We felt we booked the wrong place for our stay. The staff's reaction...

"Novotel Candolim is a very good and centrally located property with all the amenities you could ever wish and you can walk to any local shop or restaurant within a few minutes. Swimming pool is a nice place to be with a nice 35 meter length. Very clean and very nice. All the staff work as a team and are very friendly and professional. "very well managed hotel. generally quiet relaxing atmosphere. optimal location close enough to main street with a multitude of restaurants and shops (5 minutes walk), but also directly adjacent to the beach with endless options of beach shacks. clean and well furnished rooms with comfortable bed and bedding. very friendly and helpful staff and excellent service. good breakfast buffet. wifi works well. overall a great experience! would return here anytime. "Good place to stay, very clean property. Me and my wife really liked the fact that everything was at walking distance from the hotel, from places to eat to Candolim beach. Things to improve - well the breakfast spread can be much better, & the house-keeping service can be a little more active coz there were instances where they'd forget what we'd requested for. Otherwise, a property worth considering."

"Absolutely dreadful experience. The rooms were old, dirty, musty, and covered in mould… hardly the standard anyone would expect from a property associated with Marriott.
