"The apartment hotel is in a great location, and is modern in design.
We experienced a few faults in our stay - the WiFi didn’t work the first night, and we couldn’t have a hot shower on our last day.
We also moved rooms, as our room smelt of drains - we were moved into a smaller room where the issue persisted. The first room also had shampoo that smelt of sulphur!
Overall the hotel was ok, the location made the property being so close to the restaurant district and within walking distance to the beach. The complimentary breakfast was a nice addition, and being able to use a umberella (because let’s face it you’ll need one.) But the rooms being open with the toilet shower etc was not something I would enjoy to stay in again."
"Fabulous historic hotel! I was blown away by its level of finish. Rooms were large and comfortable and the views were phenomenal. Price was in line for the standard of service. I would recommend this hotel highly."
"Hotel Chiqui sits in a unique position at the end of a beautiful stretch of beach and we had a wonderful week long stay. From the first moment the staff were friendly and attentive and spoke such good English my efforts on Duolingo were pointless! The hotel is modern and clean and the infinity pool is a bonus, with a shallow (waist deep) side suitable for leisurely swims and the remainder is ankle deep with 2 sunbeds to dry off on. Our room was comfortable and spotless with a balcony looking over the pool and beyond to the beach and the peninsula opposite.
Breakfast is a Continental buffet so don't go expecting a full english. There is plenty of everything and it's fresh. There wasn't much within walking distance to amble to for dinner etc but the city centre is just a cheap bus ride away and if not there are 2 little supermarkets to get snacks and a bottle of wine. We ate in the Panorama restaurant at the hotel on our last evening and the food was excellent. Be prepared for a QR code for a translation of the menu (Google Translate had turned 'mature beef' into 'old cow') but the language barrier again was not a problem.
This is a lovely part of the world, away from the touristy areas of the southern Spainish coast and Hotel Chiqui is a perfect spot to explore the area from. Highly recommend."
"Good location close to town. Has a cafeteria and breakfast room. Has its own parking garage but parking is not free for guests. Has coffee service and serví bar in the room. Good value. "
"The hotel is right on road by the Sardinero beach, but a bit off the beaten track for major sightseeing sites and restaurants. If you love to look at and walk along the seaside, this is a great place for you. If you want to be in the heart of the action, this might seem too far away from those areas.
Our room was small but adequate, and it was acceptably clean. We found the beds comfortable and the street was quiet enough late in the evening to have the window open for sea breeze and wave sounds (we visited early in the season, so this may not be true in summer!).
The restaurant was surprisingly good and with excellent service. The front desk staff seemed confused by their computer system, making check in and check out leisurely, but they were also very accommodating and helpful in suggesting parking options and places to go.
Overall, a good experience and very good value for the price."
