"Beautiful hotel in a great location right on the beach. As with almost all hotels in CR, the pool is not heated and too cold even in hot weather but the proximity to the beach and ocean makes up for it. The rooms are clean, spacious and well maintained. Definitely request an upstairs room otherwise you need to keep the curtains drawn the entire time. Restaurant is high on price and moderate in quality but fine for post-beach snacks. We also did the hotel-provided boat and snorkel sunset trip which was well worth it. "

"There is the buffet and snack bar. Snack bar is not open for dinner, its the steak house then. We ate most meals at buffets, and while small, food was not too bad! Snack bar does have made to order burgers! Oriental and italian were great with great atmosphere! You do have to go to the front desk to make reservations. We did premium so did get premium lounge which had better alcohol, and had room service which we did once. Drinks were only okay. We could not find a good margarita all week, anywhere! Tried both white and red wine which were both good, and loved the Imperial beer! While old, it’s beautiful and quaint. Lots of walking, but there’s also a shuttle running all the time too."

"This place is AWESOME! If I could do it all over again I would have just spent the entire week here. Here’s why it rocks. It completely captures the magic of the country. Down to the decor. The employees were so nice, and the daily included breakfast was such a nice touch. I loved the pool being in the middle of the property with the rooms surrounding it. Very Melrose Place. The location was perfect, right by the beach and tons of restaurants. The pool at night with all of the lights was such a vibe. This is just a really cool spot. The only downfall was that we brought our three kids and they spent most of their time in the pool chillin, and there were some adults there that just seemed so irritated to be around kids. All of the rooms had a balcony area which overlooked the pool, so they sat out there silently judging lol "
